Jacob Waid is a Vienna-based songwriter, singer and rapper. He is the lead singer of the band WELLBEHAVED and is also working on his own solo EP.

Born in Salzburg to an Austrian father and a British mother, Jacob spent part of his teenage years in North Carolina before moving to Vienna as a young adult. Living between different places and cultures has shaped the way he writes, the music he is drawn to and the language he uses.

With WELLBEHAVED, Jacob makes music that moves between hip hop, indie, jazz and soul, bringing rap and vocals together with live instrumentation. The band has played across Austria and abroad, supported acts including Buntspecht, and released their debut EP, Well Well Well, in 2026. Their first album is currently in the making.

Jacob joins the curious to talk about the process of finding his place in music and developing his own voice, as well as the collaborations that have shaped that journey.
